Legislators and parents across the country are voicing outrage over California Governor Gavin Newsom‘s latest law which makes the Golden State a “sanctuary” for gender-confused minors.
A new law signed into action last week establishes California as a sanctuary for minors who want to transition medically without the knowledge or consent of their parents. The disturbing law even goes a step further by stripping parents of custody by empowering California courts to take over “temporary emergency jurisdiction” of children who travel to the state seeking sex-change treatments.
While signing the radical new law into effect, the liberal governor attempted to claim the move is a win for “parental rights” when in reality it does the complete opposite, according to The Washington Examiner.
“Parents know what’s best for their kids, and they should be able to make decisions around the health of their children without fear,” Newsom said. “We must take a stand for parental choice. That is precisely why I am signing Senate Bill l07.”
The horrendous legislation is geared toward out-of-state residents, especially those who live in red states where medical and chemical sex-change treatments are restricted.
An Arkansas law that bans “gender transition procedures,” including surgeries or drugs, for children under 18 is currently facing a challenge in court.
Texas is facing its own set of legal challenges after Attorney General Ken Paxton declared “certain medical and chemical procedures – several of which have the effect of sterilization” to be child abuse.
If the idea of a child crossing state lines to mutilate their own body while parents are left with their hands tied isn’t disturbing enough the bill’s co-sponsor state Sen. Scott Wiener’s comments essentially declaring war on parents should be enough to send a shiver down your spine.
The San Fransisco Democrat seemed to confirm that parents who don’t comply with the new law could face the permanent custody loss of their child.
“We may have limits under the U.S. Constitution,” he said, “but we are going to go right up to the edge of what we’re able to do to protect them and say, ‘Unless we are absolutely forced to send you back, we are not going to send you back.’”
The new law essentially obliterates state lines. According to Wiener, it would also bar California from complying with out-of-state subpoenas seeking information on families who seek that care in California, and put criminal arrest warrants against people who violate these out-of-state laws on the “lowest priority for law enforcement.”
Gov. Newsom’s radical move comes as speculation builds the California governor is gearing up to run for president in 2024.
